London's celebrated diversity is represented by many ethnic minority groups that are involved in community development drawing mainly on their own human and cultural resources to contribute to the diversity, vibrancy and sustainability of the voluntary sector in London. The main aim of this Directory is to support this engagement. Hence, it's not a Directory of Ethnic Minority Community Organisations, but also it is a Directory for them.
The Directory starts with an introduction to the definitions of 'community' and 'community organisations'. Then 153 organisation are presented in alphabetical order, providing conctact details and information about borough, ethnic groups, languages used and the services provided. And as a unique feature, it also gives information about the resources a group has ad wish to share with other hroups and the resources it needs.
We have also added a section called Infrastructure Support, which contains information about BME Secont-tier groups and Councils for Voluntary Service, funding resources, useful publications and websites.
