| Events - Diversity in Practice Conference | |
|
With the creation of a new combined equalities body, the undertaking of the Discrimination Law Review, and the deadline for meeting the targets of the 10 Point Plan, 2008 sees a spotlight on diversity within the public sector. Public sector organisations have a legal duty to advance equality and diversity across their organisations. Complying with equalities legislation requires more than just paying ‘lipservice’ to our responsibilities. How do we ensure we fulfil our duties effectively and fairly? Capita’s Diversity in Practice Conference goes beyond the moral and business case for diversity. It focuses on identifying practical measures and solutions through best practice in the fields of race, gender and disability equality, as well as diversity in religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and age. Attend Capita’s conference to take away ideas on how to embed your equality and diversity policies and practice across these areas, to ensure that you are both progressive and protected as an employer and service provider. | Training - Legal and Safety Implications of Involving Volunteers in your Organisations | |

Many refugee and migrant organisations
are taking legal risks they are not even aware of, and many worry about
how to ensure the safety of their volunteers and clients when they cannot
always provide direct supervision. If you are working with volunteers
in any role (with clients or in the office) there are many legal and safety
issues that you need to be aware of both for your volunteers, your clients
and for your organisation. Further information and a booking form are available online: click here. |
