| Events - European Social Services Conference | |
| Communities, large and small, across Europe are
in the process of economic and social change. These changes manifest
themselves in different ways, from decline in traditional industries
to rapid immigration, from the ageing of communities and the increasing
unaffordability of housing to issues of street crime and anti-social
behaviour. Social services and their partners in education, health,
employment and housing understand that they need to work together to
make a difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals and to strengthen
community cohesion, seeing their users in the context of where they
live and work, where they bring up their children and care for their
family and neighbours. For more information and to book a place click here. |

| Events - National Children and Adult Services Conference 2007 | |
| The event is jointly organised between the ADASS and the LGA. This year's theme is 'My life - my choices: independence, security and achievement'. The theme reflects the work that local government and partners are doing to create services that are designed for and by the individual service user and where appropriate, their carers. This event is vital to councillors, senior officers, policy makers and service managers with responsibilities for children's and adult care in the statutory, voluntary and private sector. It is also an important opportunity for their partners in health, education and related fields and MPs with an interest in social care, children's services and education. The full delegate fee includes entry into all sessions, the exhibition, three lunches, tea and coffee, reception and the conference social event.
