MODA E-Bulletin
Realising the revolutionary efficiency and equitable universal accessibility of the Internet for the production, classification and communication of information and its instrumental role in helping us achieve our mission and equal opportunity policy, MODA took a pioneering initiative in 2005 to produce the first ever free weekly E-bulletin in London dedicated to voluntary sector news, issues and concerns. The weekly e-bulletins provide efficient up-to-date information on funding, community resources, research, training programmes and courses, job opportunities, networks and all major events and issues that concern the voluntary sector as a whole and migrant and minority ethnic community organisations in particular.

How to make the best use of MODA E-bulletins
Our aim from providing this free efficient well-researched information is to enable community organisations to access vital updated information about sources of funding and opportunities for exchange, engagement and setting up networks and partnerships.

  • To make the best use of the information make a print-out of the bulletin, make copies to all those in your organisation who are interested to enable them to choose the item (s) of information relevant to your organisation;
  • Identify some one to follow up the information on the weekly basis. Make sure you can respond efficiently to funding and other opportunities with deadlines;
  • If the information is not sufficient for your purposes, use the links provided to access the main source or the website of the relevant source. Copy the web and email addresses and paste and save in a special folder;
  • Classify the addresses into special files (potential funders, networks, BME groups, research organisations, training providers, central and local government agencies, major events, etc} and add them to your usable database;
  • Establish links and networks with similar organisations and interested stakeholders;
  • Send any information you have about the needs and activities of your organisation to be included free of charge in the weekly bulletins.

The E-Bulletin is now distributed free of charge to over 1300 organisations and can also be downloaded from this page.

MODA Paper Magazine
As the E-bulletin achieves most of the aims we wanted to with our paper magazine and is a more efficient, convenient and easily and equally accessible by our target groups, and in order to save resources, we have reduced the production of our paper magazine MODA Bulletin to two times a year. The major issue coincides with our AGM and includes a version of our annual report. The paper magazines are also accessible online to MODA members.

MODA Directory
MODA's Directory of Ethnic Community Organisations & Resource Pack presents 95 organisations, providing conctact details and information about borough, ethnic groups, languages used and the services provided. And as a unique feature, it also gives information about the resources a group has ad wish to share with other hroups and the resources it needs. We have also added a section called Infrastructure Support, which contains information about BME Secont-tier groups and Councils for Voluntary Service, funding resources, useful publications and websites.

We publish an updated and revised version of MODA’s Directory of Ethnic Minority Community Organisations in London every year. If you want to know more about the Directory and to be included in it, please click here.

Other Publications
We publish organisational guides which are also used as training resource about various organisational issues that are important for the development, efficiency and effectiveness of community organisations. We also produce Information Sheets which tackle some specific issues or needs:

  • Moda Basic Organisational Guides (MBOGs): Aiming to provide expert practical knowledge and at the same time introduce elements of good practice and professional understanding of organisational structures, mechanisms and behaviour.
