  Capacitybuilders funding programme 'Improving Reach'

Representatives of 25 organisations and netowrks attended MODA event on 21 September at Bordman Hosue.

Jill Walsh, London Regional Co-ordinator of Capacitybuilders, presented a briefing session on the new Capacitybuilders funding programme 'Improving Reach' which was launched on 11 August 2006.The presentation was delivered in clear simple language and covered all aspects of the new funding, what it is for, who can apply and how and the time scale and requirements. The briefing was followed by a one-hour long questions and answers which the participants found very useful. Improving Reach is a pilot programme which will run until March 2008.

The aim of the Improving Reach programme is to improve access to capacity building and support for a range of frontline groups / organisations that may not have been reached in previous ChangeUp programmes.
In particular the programme is aimed at :

  • Black and minority ethnic groups
  • Refugee and migrant groups
  • Faith groups
  • Isolated rural groups

Improving Reach is open to all eligible organisations and is not restricted to existing ChangeUp consortia in recognition of the barriers to participation which may have limited some organisations active involvement in ChangeUp to date. For more information click here
