As part of their training programme for refugee and migrant community orgnaisations in the London Borough of Harrow, Harow Refugee Forum (HARF) will organise three one-day semianrs focusing on the theme of '' Sustainable Community Organisations." which will be delivered by MODA's Director Dr Kamal Rasul. The progamme will be as follows:

21 February: Project Lifecycle Planning and Management
The main aim of this one- day course is to enable participants to understand and use the concept of planning cycle for planning, managing and reviewing their projects and activities. The course material covers the following:

1. Definition and understanding of the concept of cycle and cycle planning
2. Differentiating between cycle and process and integrating them
3. Understanding different planning cycles relevant to organisations
4. Practical use of the mechanisms and tools of cycle planning to plan and manage successful projects

7 March: Fundrasing Strategy and Methodology
The aim of the seminar is to provide the participants with updated knowledge on fundraising sources, strategies and practical ways to approach fundraising and produce successful applications. It covers:
  1. Develop further knowledge of funding requirements and processes;
  2. Understand and define inputs, outputs and outcomes;
  3. Plan a project for funding based on input and outcome identification;
  4. Have a more clear understanding of how to cost a project;
  5. Know how to identify measures and indicators for monitoring own projects;
  6. Enhance confidence in preparing a funding proposal;

28 March: Leadership, governance and strategic planning
The main aim of this day seminar is to provide participants with knowledge and insight to improve leadership and governance functions in their organisation develop strategic approaches and tools to create effective successful organisations. The seminar covers:
  1. Understand and define the nature of leadership;
  2. Differentiate between leadership, governance and management
  3. Identify essential qualities of a good leader;
  4. Learn how to support own team to develop their leadership qualities;
  5. Differentiate between work and organisational structure;
  6. Understand the process of devising a strategic plan;
  7. Learn concepts and tools to help plan and manage work;
