MODA's Dynamic Website Project for community organisations
MODA has recently set up a special project to help ethnic minorities and migrant organisations to promote their activities and services on the web. Particularly, MODA promotes the development and customization of a Dynamic Website, with a very effective and user friendly interface, which can allow you to manage and update your website without any specific IT knowledge.
What’s a Dynamic Website?
It’s a website that displays contents and information that are pulled from an online database, automatically generating your pages according to a customised template.
How does a Dynamic Website work?
The Dynamic Website has a password-protected Content Management Section you can access from the website itself: you don’t need any software; you’ve just to go online and enter your password. With our user friendly system you can either type and enter new text (news, articles, reports) or copy & paste them from a text file; you can use edit and update your website from any internet point anywhere in the world!. You do not even need to have or use the office computer. There is also an Attachment Management Section allowing to upload any file (such as images or word and PDF documents).
Associated with the Content Management System there is also a Home Management System to highlight the new information on your website home. All those information are safely stored in your online database, organised according to pre-defined categories.
How soon can you get your Dynamic Website?
We can develop a complete dynamic website within 1 week. That’s because we are going to use a template – we have specifically developed for community organisations - that will be customised according to your necessities.
What do you need to do to have your website?
What we need from you is:
- your organisation’s logo and name and contact details (eventually your motto, if you have);
- definition of the database categories (no more than 10), representing the subsection of your website;
- definition of inner pages layout and contents (how many attachments per page you need, colours);
- definition of homepage layout and contents (how many news you want to show, colours);
- provision of basic contents to be put on the new website.
We can register your domain name (we are using http://hosting.aruba.it/?lang=EN that for an org.uk domain - minimum 2 years - charges you only £25 per year, giving you unlimited web space and 5 emails account) and follow the registering procedure for you.
What other web services can MODA provide?
According to your necessity the dynamic website can contain online forms: only two are in the basic pack, further forms you could need (for booking trainings, tracking event, etc.) should be paid separately.
