This is the main area of
MODA’s work which expresses its core philosophy and methodology.
MODA aims to minimalize office-based work and invest all available
resources in practical advice and targeted support for small migrant
and minority ethnic organisations. Realising that most of these
groups are small and under-resourced we have adopted a pro-active
method to help them. The mission of our outreach/technical support
services is: To provide targeted and friendly 1-2-1 organisational
assessment and technical support aiming at enabling migrant and
minority ethnic community organisations to access resources, enhance
their management capacity and develop their operational infrastructure.
We provide technical support to established small community organisations.
We mean by small those organisations which have the equivalent of
up to 5 full-time staff. This service is usually carried out through
outreach work by our outreach Development Officers.
Outreach work involves:
• Identifying and
prioritising the groups most in need of support
• Analysing and assessing developmental needs of organisations
through direct visits/meetings
• Conducting comprehensive organisational health check with
each groups
• Developing an action plan with each group applying for
technical support
• Providing immediate and/or long-term 1-2-1 support
• Monitoring and evaluation of process, outputs and short-term
and long-term outcomes
As part of this capacity-building
process we can also provide special training programmes tailored
to the identified needs of the groups.
If you need support with
any areas or aspects of your organisation, please fill in this application
